Meet Jenna
In 2001, Jenna Abbott left a career in Human Resources and Financial Services to pursue her dream of running her own business. A chance conversation with an Interior Designer in a local fabric store led Jenna to open Sew Elegant, a "to the trade" specialty workroom located in Sacramento, California. With 35 years experience with a needle and thread and all the specialized equipment necessary to do the job, Jenna brings her skills to bear fabricating for the Sacramento area Interior Design Community. Her work has been featured in Sacramento Magazine and the Interiors section of the Sacramento Bee.
Jenna specializes in fabricating exquisite custom drapery, valances, custom bedding & pillows, fabric shades, upholstered cornices & headboards and table linens. She offers a full complement of services including measuring, fabrication and installation and is a wholesale distributer for Old World Drapery Hardware & Trim. Jenna has earned the prestigious Certified Workroom Professional (CWP) and Certified Window Treatment Consultant (CWTC) designations from the Window Coverings Association of America (WCAA). The CWP is awarded to professionals who have completed a comprehensive course of study and passed an exam demonstrating expertise in fabrication techniques, textiles, safety standards, customer relations, soft furnishings knowledge and product applications. Similarly, the CWTC is awarded to professionals who have completed a comprehensive course of study and exam covering customer relations, soft furnishings knowledge, installation, product application and interior design principles.
Jenna believes the pursuit of education leads to a more efficient operation and a well rounded business owner. She is a founding member of the Northern California Chapter of the WCAA, a National WCAA Director and a proud alumnus of the Custom Home Furnishings Academy in Charlotte, NC.
