Q: What do I need to provide in order for you to work with me as a designer?
A: Simply provide me a copy of your resale certificate and your business license.
Q: How do I obtain a bid for a project?
A: In order to bid your job, I will need you to send me a sketch or picture of what you want me to fabricate, finished measurements and the vertical and horizontal repeat on the fabric you wish to use.
Q: How long will it be between the time that I submit a request for a bid to you and when I receive your response?
A: You will typically receive a response to your request within 24 hours of your request.
Q: Do you have work orders or request for bid forms that I can use?
A: Yes and I would be happy to provide a package to you as well as a quick lesson, if you would like one, on how to fill them out
Q: May I use my own workorder?
A: If you have a workorder or request for bid form that you are comfortable with, let me have a look at it. If it fulfils my needs, then I'm happy to use it.
Q: Why do I need a workorder at all? May I just call you and describe what I need?
A: I do require that all orders and requests for bids be submitted in writing. This protects you, me and your client from misunderstandings during the order process. My goal is to give you and your client a product that you love and the best way to do that is to get all of the details up front and on paper.
Q: Do you provide an installation service?
A: Yes, I am a one stop shop! I can manage your project from check measure to the fabrication of your work, and finally the full install. I am a graduate of the Career Professional Installer program from the Custom Home Furnishings Academy in Charlotte, NC as well as a Certified Professional Installer through Hunter Douglas.
Q: What if the design changes part way through the process? May I call in changes to you?
A: Design changes happen and I'm happy to accomodate them. It's important that changes be submitted in writing so that we have a common understanding of what alterations are needed. If there will be a change in the pricing based on the new design, I will submit a new bid to you for the change.
Q: How long will it take for you to deliver my order?
A: Typical turn around time is 4-6 weeks. During traditionally busy periods, such as the months leading up to the fall and winter Holidays, turn around may be longer. You will always be given a tentative delivery date when your order is put into the queue and a firm delivery date will be provided within 2 weeks.
Q: Do you ever work with the general public or are you strictly wholesale?
A: I do have the odd "retail client." Be assured, however, that I will NEVER solicit your clients for work. Should one of your clients approach me directly, I will always let you know and decline the work should you ask me to.
Q: Do your retail clients receive the same pricing as your design clients?
A: No. My wholesale business is very important to me and, as such, I have an entirely different pricing structure when I am working with a retail client.
Q: What are your payment terms and conditions?
A: A deposit equal to 1/2 the total bid will be required in order for the project to be scheduled. The balance is due when the project is picked up from the workroom.
